EXTREM SELTEN!!!

Extremely rare Montblanc Travelers Ink Bottle with ink window. All MB traveling ink bottles are rare, but this is problably rarest of all. Usual you can find no. 1000/1001 in black hard rubber for Safety Pens. This is for use for Selffilling Pens. The price-list from 1936 shows it as no. 1008, the only one with ink window for visible ink level. Useable at home as well as outdoor. Not made from black hard rubber as usual, but made of black Bakelite. Contains 45 grams ink, more than double of no. 1000. For the price of 3.75 RM it was very expensive.

Inscribed "Montblanc" and the MB star on screw cap. Measures: 70 x 43 (57 with cap) x 28 mm. The surface shows some small chips, but was carefully polished and is glossy black, no discoloration. The inkwindow with some rests of dried ink and a few scratches from inside at the lower part, but 95% visible and absolutely tight. Unfortunately the screw cap has 3 smaller and 1 large cracks (easy to see at the picture). Maybe it could be glued or otherwise repaired, but i did not, because of his rarity.

An extremely rare collectors item. So you will not find them at the traveler ink bottle page 109 in Roeslers book. But shown in advertising on page 99. Tom Westerich (Dr. Ink estimates, that you will not find one out of 10 of No. 1000/1001.

Due to the cracks in screw cap for a very low starting price.

EXTREMELY RARE!!!
