Der Touchdown/Schnorchel Füllmechanismus wurde erneuert mit neuem Tintensack, O-Ring, Tubusdichtung und Füllknopfdichtung, ist also füll- und schreibbereit. Das Set beinhaltet Füller, Bleistift, original Sheaffer Klappetui aus Metall und original Sheaffer Snorkel Instruktionsblatt	Pneumatic "Touchdown" filling system with extendable "Snorkel" filler tube, clip and cap 14K gold filled, the black pen and pencil surfaces are in very good shape, clip and cap of pen are excellent, pencil cap shows signs of use and pencil clip is a little loose. Dies hier hat letzthin ein amerikanischer Snorkel Sammler und Experte geschrieben:
     Während einer Diskussion vor einiger Zeit kam das Gespräch auf das Thema "Werteinschätzung". Was kostet die Herstellung eines Montblanc Patronenfüllers, der für über $ 150 verkauft wird? Viele meinten, das Marketing belege die Hauptkosten, andere gaben die Materialkosten an ... aber alle waren sich einig darüber, dass die Produktionskosten den geringsten Teil des Verkaufspreises ausmachen - einen kleineren Teil als bei irgend einem anderen Produkt ausser bei Zigaretten!
     Sei's wie's will - beim Sheaffer Snorkel ist die Feder allein ca. $3 wert und der Mechanismus ist höchster Stand der Technik. Sheaffer Repräsentanten haben merhfach bestätigt, dass der Snorkel nicht wieder aufgelegt wird, weil die Kosten für die Herstellung der Werkzeuge diesen Typ niemals profitabel machen könnten. Der Füller ist zu kompliziert und schwierig herzustellen. Hier also ist er, DER State-Of-The-Art-Füller mit den besonderen Eigenschaften wie sauberster Füller aller Zeiten, beste Tintenausnutzung aller Zeiten, vollkommen aus Palladium hergestellte Feder (Palladium wird momentan höher dotiert als Gold!), Beschläge mit dickem Goldüberzug und nicht nur billig elektro-goldplattiert, geriffeltes Griffstück, gefederter Clip für dicke Jackentaschen, und nicht zuletzt die beste Isolierung des Tintenraums, die je bei einem Füller eingesetzt wurde >>>>>> Wie viele Füller aus aktueller Produktion sind "state of the art" wie der Parker 51 oder der Sheaffer Snorkel? Wie viele moderne Füller mit 14K oder Palladium Feder werden für weniger Geld angeboten? Der moderne Füller, der dem Snorkel am nächsten kommt, ist der Sheaffer Crest - der oft zwischen $115 bis $175 angeboten wird, nur plattierte Beschläge und Patronensystem hat aber aussieht wie ein Snorkel !!!

This is what an American Snorkel expert wrote lately:
     During a chat some time ago the "value" issue was brought up. How much does it cost to make a Mont Blanc cartridge filler which retails for over $150? Many said the marketing is the main cost, and others said the materials.....but all agreed the cost of production is a small fraction of the retail price - much smaller a fraction than in perhaps any other business except cigarettes!
     However - with the Sheaffer Snorkel the nib alone as mere scrap is worth about
$3 and the mechanism is state of the art. Sheaffer reps have stated time and again that it will not be brought back because the cost of retooling is such that it would never turn a profit. The pen is too intricate and difficult to make. So here is THE state of the art pen with such features as the cleanest filler ever made, the greatest word count per volume of ink, the option of a palladium nib, heavy gold filled trim and not mere electro plate, textured section, spring clip for thick pockets, and just about the best insulation of the ink supply of any pen made >>>>>>   How many modern pens are state of the art like the Parker 51 or Sheaffer Snorkel? How many modern pens with solid gold (14k) or palladium nibs (a slightly higher property than 14K) sell for less money? The closest modern pen is the Sheaffer Crest - which is often around $115 to $175 and has plated trim/cartridge filling....yet looks the same!!!!
